Elzbieta "Ella" Wojnarowska, LCPC

Elzbieta "Ella" Wojnarowska is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Illinois, Licensed Professional Counselor in Wisconsin, and the Principal Clinician at Inner Spark Behavioral Health. She is currently accepting new clients through telehealth.

Life can sometimes feel like walking through unfamiliar terrain without enough light. Grief, anxiety, trauma, depression, relationship pain, self-doubt, or major life transitions can make the path ahead feel uncertain. In those moments, therapy can become a place where you do not have to find your way alone.

Ella's role is not to take over your journey or tell you who you should become. Instead, she offers a steady lantern - a calm, compassionate, and thoughtful clinical presence that helps illuminate what may feel confusing, painful, or hidden. With care and patience, she helps clients begin to see their own path more clearly.

At Inner Spark, therapy is grounded in the belief that healing is not about becoming someone entirely new. It is often about reconnecting with the true self that has always been there - the inner spark that may have been covered by pain, fear, survival, grief, or years of carrying too much alone.

Ella creates a safe and emotionally supportive space where clients can slow down, reflect honestly, and begin to understand what they have been carrying. Therapy with Ella is not about rushing toward answers or performing strength before you are ready. It is about gently naming patterns, making room for difficult emotions, and discovering new ways of relating to yourself, others, and life's challenges.

Ella earned her Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from Northern Illinois University and has several years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. She is certified in treating grief and trauma and brings a trauma-informed lens to her work with anxiety, depression, emotional overwhelm, relationship concerns, and life transitions.

Her approach is evidence-informed and personalized. Ella draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused CBT, Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness-based practices, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Rather than using one rigid path, she collaborates with each client to understand their needs, strengths, values, and goals.

As a bilingual therapist fluent in English and Polish, Ella is committed to culturally responsive care. She understands that culture, language, family history, identity, and lived experience all shape how people carry pain, seek support, and define healing. She honors these parts of each client's story with sensitivity and respect.

Clients often come to therapy when the way forward feels unclear. Ella walks alongside them as a steady witness and collaborative guide, helping them notice old survival strategies, understand emotional wounds, build resilience, and reconnect with their inner spark. The goal is not for therapy to lead your life for you. The goal is to help you trust your own light again.

For Ella, being a therapist is both a profession and a calling. She finds deep meaning in witnessing the moments when clients begin to feel hope return: a breath of relief, a quiet realization, a renewed sense of courage, or the first glimpse of possibility after a difficult season.

With compassion, steadiness, and unwavering support, Ella helps clients move toward healing, meaningful change, and a more honest connection with their true self.

How therapy feels here

Slower, clearer, and more human.

Therapy is not treated as a performance of insight. It is a place to notice patterns, name pain carefully, reconnect with parts of the self that have gone quiet, and practice new ways of relating to life.

The goal is not to lead your life for you. The goal is to help you see your own path more clearly.

Where Healing Begins Within

“Healing begins within” does not mean healing has to happen alone. It means that change often starts in the quiet interior place where a person begins to notice, with honesty and tenderness, what has been asking for care.

For many people, that inner spark has not disappeared. It has simply been covered by stress, grief, trauma, responsibility, or years of moving through life in survival mode.

Therapy can create enough steadiness for that spark to become visible again. In the presence of a thoughtful witness, people can begin to name what hurts, recognize what helped them survive, and decide what no longer needs to lead.

The work is gentle, but it is not passive. It asks for curiosity, courage, and patience: small moments of truth, repeated over time, until new patterns become possible.

At Inner Spark, healing is understood as a return to relationship with yourself. From that place, clarity can grow, choices can widen, and life can begin to feel more inhabitable again.
